Renovating the old cheese factory
Our building plans will repurpose the Old Cheese Factory structure in the heart of La Veta’s Historic Preservation District. This project will benefit all of the Spanish Peaks area.
La Veta Village Building Plans
The Senior Living Community will have 16 suites and will be licensed to house 16 residents. It will be conveniently located within walking distance to La Veta town shopping, cultural events, and services.
Our floor plan includes 16 generously sized resident suites, each with private bath. The main entryway will have a gas fireplace and a comfortable seating area welcoming residents and guests. There will be a large dining hall with oversized south facing windows providing distant views of the Spanish Peaks. Our kitchen will serve three, well-balanced daily meals as well as snacks. The recreation room/music room will be set up for light physical activities when inclement weather prohibits being outdoors. The south facing craft room will be a great space for art projects, handwork, table games and this room can also be used for private gatherings and party functions, and a daily community gathering place for friends and families. The sunroom is small and cozy offering a pleasant, warm environment for reading, visiting, relaxing and it is set up with a self-service cantina for coffee, tea, soft drinks, snacks and ice cream.
Each resident suite has a sleeping and seating area. Careful attention has been planned into the heating, cooling, and lighting to ensure residents will be comfortable in their private quarters. The closet is large, providing space sufficient for storing items and hanging clothing. The ADA compliant bathroom has a shower, an oversized vanity countertop and a wall shelf/storage area. Television and internet services will be available.
Local community support
La Veta Village, Inc. is a grassroots 501(c)3 non-profit organization with a local Board of Directors that will own and operate the La Veta Village Assisted Living Community. As part of our future planning, we are looking to local individuals and organizations to become part of our exciting future by encouraging community involvement and financial support. This support is essential to delivering a broad range of amenities and services that will help our senior residents thrive at La Veta Village. We continue to meet with individuals and organizations in the Spanish Peaks communities and we would like to hear from you.
